| The
Toll Highway--a
divided, spectacular, and scenic, fully access-controlled expressway
provides the fastest and safest way to Ensenada, call boxes are spaced
along the highway for travelers in distress. Many ramps offer access to
seaside resorts and restaurants, and various points of interest, and
most of the journey provides an unbelievable view of the ocean and rock
formations.
THERE IS
EMERGENCY ROAD SERVICE, THE
GREEN ANGELS, A
GOVT. SPONSORED GROUP WHOSE SOLE PURPOSE IS TO PROVIDE FREE EMERGENCY
ASSISTANCE TO TOURISTS AND THEY SUPPOSEDLY PASS ANY GIVEN POINT AT LEAST
TWICE A DAY. THEIR STAFF ARE MECHANICS, BI-LINGUAL, THAT CARRY LIMITED
SPARE PARTS AND GASOLINE, PROVIDED AT COST AND WHO CAN RADIO FOR
ASSISTANCE. THEY HAVE AN EXCELLENT REPUTATION. |

BAJA BEACH HOUSE
DIRECTIONS
- On interstate 5 cross the
Mexico international border at San Diego, immediately get in the right
lane (the overhead sign that reads "ROSARITO/ENSENADA
SCENIC ROAD".
- Remain in the lane ROSARITO/ENSENADA.
Seven miles from the border is the
first of two toll booths,
(approximately $2.30), 15 miles from
the border is the 2nd toll booth, 39 miles is the third and last
toll booth.

From the last
toll booth continue 4.9 miles
to a fork in the road, stay to the right and
follow a sign that reads ENSENADA
CENTRO.

Continue
straight approximately 1.9 miles
you will be passing a harbor with ships, and a center island of palm
trees. At the stoplight you will see A FORK IN THE ROAD WITH 2 overhead signs.
STAY TO THE RIGHT (DO
NOT TAKE
THE ROAD TO THE LEFT-- FOLLOW THE SIGN ON THE RIGHT THAT READS ZONA
TURISTICA, SAN QUINTIN
-----You are now in downtown Ensenada on Blvd. Lazzaro Cardenas.

You will pass an
enormous flag on your right (there has
been a few times that the flag is not there)
(or a statue of 3 faces), stay in the left lane continue straight
1.2 miles until you see a RESTAURANT sign on the right "ANGUS
STEAK HOUSE" (see photo below), turn
left at the stop light, (follow sign "to the La Bufadora")
you will be on "GRAL AGUSTIN SANGINES" BLVD.

Continue
straight (1/2 mile) to 2nd stop
light, the Gigante Market is on the right and there is a Pemex GAS station on your left.

Turn right
and follow "La Bufadora"
sign, remain on this road for 6.5
miles, continue past the Baja Country Club (on your left) and
continue south, do not
turn in!

From
the Baja Country Club-- drive approximately 1.5 miles, to the
second stoplight,

Follow sign
to "La Bufadora"-----Turn
right.

The guard MOST
OFTEN will
not stop you-- he will take your license number and let you
proceed. IF HE STOPS YOU inform the guard that you are going to the homeowner's
Association. If he asks tell him that you are staying at 511 Norte.

OWNSAY NORTAY)

CONTINUE PAST THE
GUARD GATE TO THE HOMEOWNERS
ASSOCIATION OFFICE WHICH IS LOCATED
IMMEDIATELY PAST THE HOTEL. IT'S A SMALL FREE STANDING
BUILDING ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE. THE SIGN ON THE BUILDING READS
"PLAYA PUNTA ESTERO HOMEOWNER'S
ASSOCIATION"
